Jeonju,
known as the “City of Flavors,” is not only famous for its mouth watering
delicacies but also home to the
largest Hanok Village in the country known as the cultural capital of Korea
where we can have the chance to experience Korea’s beautiful culture and history.
I have always wanted to travel to a
place considered as a hidden gem and Jeonju was one of those places and
considering that you can travel it for only 2-3 hours away from Seoul via KTX it
is accessible specially if you are only considering to stay for a couple of
days.
(Ways on how to go to Jeonju: http://hanok.jeonju.go.kr/contents/en_map
)
As for this DIY 4D/3N trip I decided to divide it, the first
2 days to experience mostly the cultural and historical places and the last 2
days to try out different kinds of foods.

It is Iocated just across the street from Gyeonggijeon Shrine. It was completed
in 1914 thus it was considered as the oldest cathedral in Jeonju. Not only will
you be amazed by its Western-style feature and magnificent interior but it
forms a unique harmony considering it was surrounded by traditional hanok
buildings.

Instagram your way through Jaman Art Village
It is located along the foot of a mountain across the road from Jeonju
Hanok Village. Although it is a fairly steep walk up to Jaman Village, visitors
will be able to enjoy colorful murals painted on the buildings and walls along
the way.
From imitations of Keith Haring’s pop art to drawings of
Japanese animations, there are various themed mural paintings spread across
this small village where you can take lots of good pictures.
